BEREA YOUTH WORKS
The Berea Youth Works program is designed to provide summer jobs for
Berea youth, ages 16-18. The North End Foundation of Berea will manage
the program again this year. The program will run from June 15 through
July 27.
Cost to home owner/employer: $9.00 per hour to
cover $7.40 minimum wage for student, worker's compensation and FICA.
An orientation session is held for training youth on how to meet and
deal with employers, how to dress appropriately for work, the importance
of being on time for work, and general good work habits that will
undoubtedly benefit them for a lifetime.
Berea youth and any interested employers are welcome and encouraged to
participate in this program and may download an interest form and
application to complete and send in, or by calling the North End
Foundation office at
440-243-2988 or People’s Community Church office at 440-234-0609, or by submitting an email at
nncdf@sbcglobal.net.
The funding for this program comes largely from employers of the youth
but this year the Berea City Club is funding a portion so the foundation
can have youth do some work for qualifying Berea seniors.
